The Bold and the Beautiful struck gold when it cast Darlene Conley as Sally Spectra. The show quickly built on the knockoff artist character by giving her a “family” of co-workers in Saul (Michael Fox), a seamstress, and Darla (Schae Harrison), an inept but lovable secretary.
The show expanded on the Spectra gang even more by giving Sally a flesh and blood relative — her daughter Macy. After an extensive search and an on-camera audition, Bobbie Eakes landed the role of Macy, whom Sally named after the famous department store!
One reason Sally knocked off so many Forrester gowns was so she could pay for the very best education for her baby girl. But Macy also wanted Sally’s attention and she didn’t always get that since her mom was so hard-working.
Macy’s return was a surprise. At first Sally thinks that Macy is on the phone. The grand diva is then surprised to see Macy appear in her office hiding behind her door!
At first Macy calls her “Sally,” but Sally asks, “What? I’m not called mother anymore?”
In this video flashback, we see that Macy has returned home having completed her college education. It’s clear from the beginning that Eakes was well cast in the part as she more than holds her own with the indomitable Conley.
We see that she’s Sally’s vulnerable spot and she’d do anything for her. That’s good because Macy makes it clear she wants one thing from her mother — money!
