The Bold and the Beautiful has a long history of going on remotes for their fashion galas. In 1989, Sally Spectra (played the late, great Darlene Conley) maneuvered her way into doing a joint Forrester/Spectra fashion show on board the Queen Mary to benefit a children’s hospital.
Sally’s plan was to pair her daughter Macy with Ridge and gain respectability by aligning her fashions with Forrester originals. Destiny, as usual, had other ideas!
Macy ended up getting locked in a stateroom with Thorne — not Ridge. And since Sally was using Clarke Garrison, a Forrester designer, (using the alias Beau Rivage) to also create her fashions, an honest but costly mistake occurred.
It turned out that Clarke subconsciously created similar patterns for the Forrester and Spectra showstoppers that were worn by Kristen Forrester and Donna Logan on the runway. Sally tried to stop the fashion disaster by having Darla keep Donna from taking the stage, but was she in time? Also, were the designs truly that similar? Check out the video and decide for yourself.
