First, Sheila made a shocking return to The Bold and the Beautiful and, now, the half-hour soap has pulled off another on-air surprise return by returning fan favorite Hunter Tylo to the canvas!
B&B viewers first got a hint a mystery woman was going to appear on the show when Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) told Hope (Annika Noelle) that “she’s” here. Later in the show, Taylor (Hunter Tylo) showed up at the home of Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), blasting him for his treatment of her daughter Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Soap Opera Digest has the first interview with Tylo on her return.
“When Brad [Bell, executive producer/head writer] calls you, it says, ‘No Caller ID,’ so I almost didn’t answer it!” Tylo told Soap Opera Digest.
After she heard Bell’s pitch, she was glad she picked up the phone!
Tylo got the “Sheila” (Kimberlin Brown) treatment to keep her return under wraps. She came in to the studio via a passageway not used by everyone else so she wouldn’t be spotted. B&B shot her scenes at the end of the day so even some of her co-stars didn’t know she’d returned.
This isn’t the first (or even second time) Taylor’s made a surprise return to the show. She was presumed dead in both 1994 and in 2002. Each time, she was nursed back to health by Prince Omar (Kabir Bedi) of Morocco.
Taylor was last seen on the show in 2014. The actress appeared in the short-lived Pop TV reality series Queens of Drama that also starred Donna Mills (ex-Madeline, General Hospital; ex-Abby, Knots Landing) and Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda, GH), as well as other actresses from the world of soaps.
How will Taylor’s return affect the Steffy’s future? And will B&B reunite Sheila and Taylor? In light of Sheila shooting Taylor back in 2002 and changing the course of her life, we can imagine that showdown would be one for the books!
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
