The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ronn Moss Releases ‘Hallelujah’

Ronn Moss made some beautiful music, figuratively, over the years as Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, the performer is making some actual beautiful music in a video cover of the song Hallelujah with singer Ella Luna.

While Ridge and Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) were often at odds on BB, the singer’s former co-star posted a rave review. “Beautiful….one of my favorite songs♥️🙏,” Brown wrote.

Moss’s followers became instant fans of the duet. “You need a full Christmas album!” posted @sanderslayne. “That was so uplifting and beautiful. Made my Sunday.”

Who is Luna? She’s a Belgian singer who toured in both Belgium and France. She started her career singing in Dutch but then fell in love with singing in French. Leonard Cohen composed Hallelujah in 1984. The song initially had little success but then became more popular after it was recorded by singer John Cale. It’s been featured in the film Shrek (covered by Rufus Wainwright) and used on the Fox primetime soap The O.C.

Following Cohen’s death four years ago, the song entered the American Billboard Hot 1000 for the first time ever. Moss, in addition to his 25-year run as Ridge Forrester on BB, is also a singer, having played in the band Player, best known for the 1978 hit Baby Come Back.

After leaving BB, Moss took on two roles on the web soap The Bay. He plays John Blackwell on the digital series and also serves as one of the serial’s producers, having won four Daytime Emmys as part of the show’s producing team in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2020.

Two years ago, Moss and former Player band member Peter Beckett settled a dispute over who would get to keep the name Player as they were no longer performing together. It was decided that Moss would professionally use the name Ronn Moss’s Player (and Beckett would employ a similar handle).
