The Bold and the Beautiful’s John McCook Reveals Heartbreak for Son-in-Law

There’s an old showbiz adage that goes “the show must go on.” Alas, that’s not the case thanks to the Coronavirus, which has taken over the headlines — and closed the Broadway show in which The Bold and the Beautiful star John McCook’s son-in-law was supposed to star.

John McCook: Show Won’t Go On For Family

“My heart breaks for my Son-in-Law, John Krause, whose Broadway debut as Orpheus in ‘Hadestown’ was pulled from under his feet only hours before ‘curtain up’ by the cancellation of all theater in NYC for the foreseeable future,” McCook (who plays Eric) tweeted. “Sending all my love…”

As a precaution to keep the Coronavirus from spreading, Broadway shows, Walt Disney World, Disneyland, major sporting events, St. Patrick’s Day Parades, museums, and schools across the country have closed until further notice.

Krause is wed to McCook’s youngest, daughter Molly McCook (Last Man Standing). The actor’s present and past co-stars chimed in on social media with support for McCook and Krause.

McCook knows the joy of what it’s like to perform on stage, a pleasure that, for now, has been denied his son-in-law. McCook’s stage credits include: West Side Story, the national tour of Barefoot in the Park, Mame (opposite the legendary Ann Miller), Oklahoma!, The Pirates of Penzance, They’re Playing Our Song, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Fiddler on The Roof, Peter Pan, and Man of La Mancha.

The Emmy-nominee has also appeared opposite Carol Burnett in From The Top and also Putting It Together. McCook is an original cast member of BB. He had previously played the role of Lance Prentiss on The Young and the Restless. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
