On-screen, sure, characters from The Bold and the Beautiful have been known to get pretty aggressive to get what they want. Off-screen, it’s a totally different matter, however. Three stars recently gathered to take a stand against bullying.
The Bold and the Beautiful Spirit
Today is Spirit Day, which was started in 2010 by Canadian teen Brittany McMillan in response to bullying at school, specifically bullying against LGBTQ students.
Now, three actors from The Bold and the Beautiful — Scott Clifton (Liam), Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) — have all donned purple t-shirts today in support of Spirit Day. The post, on the show’s official Instagram account, reads: “Today and every day we take a stand against bullying. Join #BoldandBeautiful by going purple in honor of #SpiritDay. 💜”
The first Spirit Day was held on October 20, 2010. The tradition, since 2013, is to have Spirit Day on the third Thursday of October. “Going purple for #SpiritDay!” wrote McMillan in a social media post. “I can’t believe this is year ten! Thanks @glaad for all that you do! #loveislove”.
Other celebrities who are taking part in Spirit Day include Big Brother host Julie Chen, cast members from the Showtime series Shameless, cast members from the ABC sitcom Single Parents, and James Corden (The Late, Late Show With James Corden).
