In the 1990s, one of The Bold and the Beautiful’s top supercouples was Macy and Thorne. Two different actors played the part of the Forrester heir during that decade and now, one of them, Winsor Harmon, has reunited with Bobbie Eakes’ Macy!
“Had the #great #pleasure #tonight of watching the #super #talented Bobbie Eakes in the #play “This Side of Crazy” tonight,” Harmon posted on Instagram. “#Superb #performances.”
Eakes and Harmon caught up after her performance of the Del Shores’ play This Side of Crazy, which recently closed at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles. The play tells the story of Ditty Blaylock, gospel music megastar, who was being honored by the Gospel Music Network. The event calls for her three daughters to reunite; Ditty’s eldest, Rachel, was played by Eakes.
The good news is that the play is going on to Dallas, starting in early April. Alas, the bad news is that Eakes will not be going with it!
As veteran BB fans recall, Harmon joined the half-hour soap just as the Macy, Thorne, and Claudia (Lilly Melgar) triangle was taking off. That story wrapped up fairly quickly and Thorne moved on to a failed relationship with Taylor (Hunter Tylo) and a failed marriage with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
Thorne’s heart was broken when Macy died after a tanker exploded, but he learned a few years later in Italy that Macy was indeed alive! Her father, Adam (Michael Swan), helped rescue her and took her abroad.
Macy and Thorne returned to Beverly Hills but weren’t able to make their relationship work. They decided to become friends, but then, Macy, became a casualty after some bad guys wanted to send a message to club owner Oscar (Brian Gaskill). Macy went into a coma after crooks rigged a chandelier to come crashing down on her head. It was revealed later that Macy died – off-camera. Hmmm…
Years later, Thorne was recast with Ingo Rademacher; he stuck around for a year and then Thorne returned to Europe. Could BB ever bring back this fan-favorite duo? In soaps, anything is possible! The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
