The Bold and the Beautiful star Scott Clifton plays devoted dad to Kelly and Beth on-screen. Off-screen, the actor is an equally devoted father to his real-life son, Ford. Clifton’s son recently turned four years old, prompting his father to write an emotional social media post commemorating the occasion.
Scott Clifton: Proud Dad
“It’s strange to think you’ll never be three years old again,” Clifton wrote to his firstborn. “Was I present? Did I appreciate you? Will I remember? (Will you?) I can feel the past pulling on my attention like gravity, and it’s tempting to mourn even the future: when the day comes that I pick you up and hold you for the last time, will I know it? Of course, I won’t.
“And I suppose that’s parenthood—learning, forgetting, and learning again that I have failed to cherish you as perfectly as I want to,” Clifton philosophized. “But here’s a secret, my son: you are truly exquisite, and there will always be someone who knows it. Always. So when the Earth has done its next pirouette around the sun and tomorrow becomes yesterday once more, I’ll remember this moment and think, ‘I knew.’ Happy 4th birthday, Ford. I love you.”
Clifton’s pals from the soap world posted not only birthday wishes to Ford but also positive messages to his dad for being so thoughtful. “Omgosh 😭 sweetest. ❤️ HBD Ford,” wrote Ashley Jones (Bridget). “We love you, buddy.”
“Happy Birthday Ford💘. Big hug!!!” posted John McCook (Eric). Added Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac, The Young and the Restless): “Im crying 😭 and wow how is he 4 already?! Happy birthday sweet Ford! ❤️”
“Lovely,” noted Greg Rikaart (Kevin, YR). “HBTY, Ford! ❤️” Don Diamont, who plays Clifton’s TV dad, Bill, simply posted: “🎉🎉🎉FORD‼️‼️‼️❤️”
