Quinn Fuller Forrester chose not to have an abortion on The Bold and the Beautiful after finding out she was pregnant with Wyatt. Now, the actress who plays her is speaking out in light of current new laws about how important she feels it is for a woman to have the right to choose!
Rena Sofer took to social media to explain in a series of tweets her reasons for wanting women to continue to have a choice as to whether or not they’ll continue with a pregnancy, a topic that’s making more headlines than usual this week.
While Sofer had tweeted as recently as Mother’s Day on May 12, she posted on May 15 that she hadn’t tweeted in a while but felt compelled to do so now — and revealed a deeply personal decision in her life.
Sofer explained that years ago she’d become pregnant and took a CVS (chorionic villus sampling), which determines whether or not a fetus will have genetic diseases, birth defects, and other problems during and after pregnancy.
The actress revealed she made a choice to abort the fetus after the results of those tests indicated her child was very ill. She believes that women should be able to have the right to choose.
“[T]he fact that I was free to choose what I did or didn’t do with my body is something too many women will not be able to decide for themselves,” Sofer tweeted. “Choice is about just that! Having the right to choose what works for you, your family, your life, your morals.”
