Rena Sofer has put her downtime to productive use. While The Bold and the Beautiful is on a temporary hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Emmy-winning star has opened her doors to a new family member.
“Since we are shut in we decided to foster a dog in need,” Sofer posted on Instagram along with a photo of her new adorable dog. “We don’t have a name for her yet. She is an older chihuahua. My dogs are super territorial but they seem to be putting up with her so…, anyone out there wanting to help can always foster while quarantined and who knows maybe you will fall in love. #adoptdontshop #foster.”
While adding a permanent member to the family is always a possibility, Sofer says she may not be the one to make that decision at all. “[I]t’s my husband who may not let her go!!” Sofer responded.
Sofer was applauded for her action by @mansfielddogboarding, who wrote: “Thank you!! People are dumping dogs because they falsely believe that dogs can get c19. The Coronavirus component in a dog’s yearly vaccine is a totally different virus that’s been around a long time. Lynda with #Shelter2rescue.”
“Thank you for sharing this Rena. We are also a loving dog family and I’m going to check our local shelter and see what we can do to help as well,” posted @mrsqueenvee. “Thank you for always setting the example and caring for animals. Much love from a big fan in Portland Oregon, take care [of] you and your family during this tough time💯😊.”
Kudos to Sofer and other pet lovers who are thinking of our furry friends at this challenging time. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
