Kelly Kruger first came to the attention of soap fans for playing Mac on The Young and the Restless. More recently, she’s popped up as Eva on The Bold and the Beautiful. The actress/mother recently took to social media to share her thoughts on balancing her busy home life with a career.
“Pre-pandemic and becoming a mom, all I focused on was work,” Kruger shares on Instagram. “How many jobs I was booking, all my auditions, all my social media deals. Shooting content. I never took a minute to stop and celebrate any success I had. It was always about the next thing. The hustle.”
Kruger hastens to add that she still is career-oriented but she makes time to stop and smell the roses. “I celebrate the little things,” she says. “This has been a HUGE lesson for me this past year. I am so much less exhausted today even though I do more in a day and literally get no time off to relax.
“You don’t have to work harder on your goals whatever they may be, you just have to work smarter,” Kruger notes. “Find the time to be proud of whatever u accomplished that day. Manage your time better (still working on that) stay focused. Get rid of toxic people who only take from you. How do u know who those people are? How do u feel when u leave them? Are you inspired and energized or do you feel depleted and depressed? Do u learn from them in some way or is it always the same story?”
In her post, Kruger asks for fans to comment on what the most important thing in their lives is. She says it may be something materialistic, but “for most, for most, I believe it will be a family member, friend, relationship or pet. Just a guess but I’m curious to see…
“Once u figure out what the most important thing in your life is. Make sure to spend every day nurturing it, being grateful for it, and putting your energy into it,” Kruger advises. “Water your garden every day and remember the grass is always greener where you water it.” The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
