The Bold and the Beautiful Star Katrina Bowden Escapes to a Winter Wonderland

Although it’s not officially winter yet and Katrina Bowden (Flo) works in southern Sunny California, The Bold and the Beautiful star recently escaped to a winter wonderland! Her weekend getaway to Big Bear turned into a mini-adventure after things took an unexpected turn.

“What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend in the mountains with friends turned into a completely snowed in for days with a power-outage adventure with friends!” Bowden posted on Instagram, accompanied by photos and video of her enjoying a frosty adventure in Big Bear.

The actress and her pals made the best of the situation. “We lit candles, played games in the dark, drank so many margaritas (you can take the folks out of la but you can’t take the la out of…),” she continues, “we fed the birds + watched them for hours and finally!! we dug our cars out with a nice combo of dustpans, hot water, good old-fashioned pushing, and a snowplow guy named Bob who finally showed up at sundown 2 days later…We are nothing if not resourceful. I think I got my snow fix for the next few years,” Bowden adds.

As BB viewers know, the show’s action has occasionally — and memorably — shifted to the Forrester’s Big Bear Cabin. In the show’s early days, Ridge (then Ronn Moss; now Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) were enjoying a time at the cabin when newlyweds Caroline (Joanna Johnson) and Thorne (Clayton Norcross) unexpectedly showed up.

A similar dynamic occurred when then romantic duos Brooke and Eric (John McCook) and Ridge and Taylor (Hunter Tylo) found themselves at the cabin. Complicating matters was the presence of Stephanie (Susan Flannery). A few years later, Taylor and James (Ian Buchanan) were at the cabin when an earthquake struck. Trapped in the wreckage of the Forrester getaway, Taylor and James, a virgin, made love. Their tryst remained a secret for many years.

Another storyline had an enraged Stephanie burst into the cabin to attack Brooke after finding out that she was having a romance with Thorne (Winsor Harmon). The Forrester matriarch snapped. Brooke almost didn’t escape with her life! Fortunately, Bowden’s Big Bear adventure was tame by comparison! The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
