Brooke may be fretting about her daughter’s choice of husband but actress Katherine Kelly Lang certainly has a reason to celebrate. That’s because she was born on July 25, 1961, in Hollywood, California, meaning that she is turning 58 years old today!
Lang was born into a family of performers so it’s no wonder she chose the acting profession. Her father starred as the Jolly Green Giant in commercials throughout the 1960s and 70s, her mother was an actress and her grandfather was a cinematographer who won an Oscar for the 1932 classic A Farewell To Arms.
Lang made her acting debut in the film Skatetown, U.S.A.starring Scott Baio. She was originally an extra on the project but producers later hired her as the girlfriend of co-lead Patrick Swayze.
That led to an explosion of television offers and Lang appeared on some of the biggest primetime hits of the early 1980s including The Fall Guy, Riptide, Happy Days and 1st & Ten.
Lang also had roles in three different music videos in 1985. She can be seen in the Beach Boys’ Getcha Back and its sequel It’s Gettin’ Late and she was cast as the girlfriend of Alabama frontman Randy Owen in the video There’s No Way.
But it is, of course, the role of intelligent scrapper Brooke Logan on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful for which Lang is best known. She was part of the original cast and actually appeared in the very episode besting co-star (and long-time sparring partner) Susan Flannery who debuted in episode two.
Soap Hub would like to wish Lang a very happy birthday and you can too by clicking the twitter link below. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
