Karla Mosley is one of many soap stars who can also lay claim to being part of the superhero world. The actress, best known to soap fans as Maya on The Bold and the Beautiful, is lending her voice to a Spider-Man video game.
While Peter Parker is in this game, it’s the Miles Morales version of the web-spinner who is the focal point of this videogame, titled, appropriately, Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game, which debuted earlier this month on November 12, is the sequel to Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2018.
Game players can play Miles Morales’ Spider-Man and learn lessons about fighting crime and serving justice. Advising him is his mentor, former Spider-Man, Peter Parker.
Nadji Jeter voices the role of Miles Morales; Yuir Lowenthal voices the part of Peter Parker. Meanwhile, Mosley’s role is listed as “Additional Voices.”
Spider-Man made his debut in Amazing Fantasy No. 15 (August of 1962), published by Marvel Comics. Readers were introduced to high school student and science geek Peter Parker, who was bitten by a radioactive spider. He soon realized he’d gained super spider-like powers. Initially, he turned his newfound skills into a money-making effort. After an appearance, Peter failed to stop a crook despite pleas for him to do so. Tragedy struck when Peter was informed that his Uncle Ben had been killed.
Changing into Spider-Man, Peter apprehended the burglar who murdered his uncle — only to discover that the killer was the same crook he’d failed to stop! Peter learned the powerful lesson that “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” and then dedicated his life to fighting crime.
Miles Morales was introduced in the Marvel Comics comic book Ultimate Fallout No. 4 (August of 2011), following the death of Peter Parker (from an alternate universe). Actor Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich in the film The Sound of Music) brought Peter Parker and Spider-Man to life in the live-action TV series Spider-Man which ran on CBS in 1977. The actor later played Aaron Spelling in a TV drama that told the story about the making of Dynasty.
While Maya is currently off the BB canvas for now, there’s always the chance that the character could return in the future. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
