For a while, they were The Bold and the Beautiful’s hottest duo. We’re talking about the pairing of Sally and Thomas back when he was portrayed by Pierson Fodé. The duo sizzled, and now they’ve reunited off-screen.
A Sally And Thomas Off-Screen Reunion
“Get you some friends that love to dress up, see life as a playground, and act a damn fool,” Courtney Hope recently posted on Instagram along with a photo of herself and Fodé. “Those friends are worth keeping 🙌🏼! Oh yeah… and then there’s @piersonfode,” she kidded.
As BB viewers recall, the show thrust Sally and Thomas into a front-burner storyline three years ago after Hope was cast in the role of Sally Spectra, the namesake of the character played by the late, great Darlene Conley, who was instrumental in putting BB on the map in the show’s first few years.
BB tapped into the classic tale of “haves” v. “have-nots.” Thomas’s wealth and social standing were a contrast to upstart Sally, who was out to rejuvenate Spectra Fashions.
She was in a big legal jam over some stolen designs, but Thomas’s last-minute speech in front of a judge kept Sally from having to go to jail for over a decade for industrial espionage. Then, he invested some big bucks to get Spectra up and running again. Love blossomed and fans got behind the pair.
Timing, alas, was something that the two couldn’t quite get right. Fodé quit the soap and BB hadn’t yet decided to recast the role. He returned to take Sally out of town with him, but when the show rehired Hope, she returned to Los Angeles as a solo act, having broken up with Thomas (again) off-camera.
By the time Thomas was reintroduced to the story (now played by Matthew Atkinson), Sally had moved on to Wyatt (Darin Brooks), and Thomas was obsessed with Hope (Annika Noelle).
Their pairing is a part of BB’s past, but it’s nice to see that Hope and Fodé continue to be good friends off-camera. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
