The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Jones comes and goes from the half-hour soap. While she’s away from BB, she stays busy doing a variety of other projects. In one of them, she appeared with an award-winning legendary funny lady!
Jones played the role of Babs Fremont in the 2015 film The Wedding Ringer. Set in Southern California, the film’s story is about a groom named Doug Harris, played by Josh Gad (Frozen), who is engaged to Gretchen Palmer, played by Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory) only he doesn’t have a best man. He hires a company run by Jimmy Callahan, played by Kevin Hart (Ride Along), that will provide him with the necessary best man and groomsmen.
Actress Cloris Leachman (Mary Tyler Moore) is also in the film as Grandma Palmer. Leachman has won an impressive eight Prime Time Emmys and one Daytime Emmy. She also has an Oscar for her role in The Last Picture Show. Leachman also won a Golden Globe Award for playing the title role in the sitcom Phyllis.
During a break in filming, of what appears to be a wedding scene, Leachman can be seen braiding Jones‘ hair. The gesture left an impression on Jones, who wanted to wish her former co-star a happy birthday. “#ClorisLeachman may not remember me and trying to fix my hair in between scenes😳, but I will never forget her!” Jones wrote. “Happy 94th Birthday, funny lady, from a longtime fan. 🎂🥂🥂I can only imagine hearing your quarantine stories right now!”
Jones recently returned to BB for a party to celebrate Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) getting back together. As Bridget is both a doctor and a designer, there’s always potential for her to visit the canvas often. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
