One member of the Avant family may not be returning to The Bold and the Beautiful anytime soon. Adain Bradley (Xander) has landed a new role that’s going to be occupying his schedule.
According to Deadline, Bradley and actors Iola Evans (Carnival Row) and Leo Howard (Why Women Kill) have been cast in The CW’s 100 prequel backdoor pilot. Written by The 100’s executive producer Jason Rothenberg, the prequel is being developed as a spinoff and will be introduced in an episode of the upcoming seventh and final season of The 100.
There’s not likely to be any crossover with the cast — barring some time travel! The new series is set 97 years before the original program takes place. It begins with the end of the world when a nuclear apocalypse wipes out most of Earth’s population.
The story focuses on a band of survivors as they attempt to figure out how to survive in a dangerous world while creating a new world from the ashes of the past.
The character of Reese, played by Bradley, is described as: “Hard-working and headstrong, Reese has spent a lifetime in fierce competition with his beloved sister, Callie (played by Evans). But when the opportunity to finally prove his worth comes with an incredible cost, Reese must figure out what lines he is willing to cross to finally come out on top.”
Recently, Bradley wrapped up playing the lead role in Constantin Film’s upcoming movie titled Wrong Turn: The Foundation. He can next be seen in the independent film Butter. In addition to BB, Bradley’s credits include Riverdale and All About the Washingtons.
Bradley had joined BB in June of 2018 as Xander, the nephew of Julius Avant (Obba Babatundé). He was paired romantically with Emma (Nia Sioux) and Zoe (Kiara Barnes). Xander had kept quiet after finding out that baby Beth was truly alive. As no criminal charges were pressed against him, Xander left town after the ordeal. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
