The Bold and the Beautiful recap for August 24-28, 2020, features the soap’s stalwart couple facing yet another crisis, and Bill and Katie finally calling their relationship’s time of death.
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights
The first meeting between Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is an oft-repeated, practically sacrosanct tale. He mistook her for his fiancée, became instantly intoxicated with her beauty, and found her penchant for introducing herself in the style of James Bond – “Logan, Brooke Logan” – charming.
But it only seems natural for Quinn (Rena Sofer) to dismiss that fairy tale moment as nothing more than Brooke locking eyes with Ridge across the room at “some party in the late 80s.”
If she comes off sounding as though she’s swallowed a whole bunch of sour grapes, you’ll just have to forgive Quinn. She’s still really, really peeved at Brooke for trying to usurp her position as Forrester matriarch.
And after much deliberation, Quinn has decided that the best way for her to remind Brooke that she’s always the most dangerous person in the room is to destroy her marriage.
Step 1: Appeal to Bill’s (Don Diamont) better angels and convince him to don his shining armor and ride to his exes rescue.
Step 2: Cross her fingers and hope that Ridge partially eavesdrops on the subsequent conversation between his former wife and his mortal enemy. Done and done.
Ridge, of course, stood around long enough to hear Brooke say that she would always love Bill but he just happened to exit the landing right before she hastened to add, “But the man that I truly love and want to spend the rest of my life with is Ridge.”
Ridge and Katie Do A Very Impulsive Thing
And in keeping with a character trait previously established over three decades ago, Ridge and his bruised pride turned to another woman for comfort. At least this woman happened to be his legal wife and he wasn’t just cheating on Brooke like he has done so many times in the past.
But just before he and Shauna (Denise Richards) did anything more than talk, Brooke burst in and readied herself to do battle for her man. There was a whole lot of yelling, recrimination, slut-shaming, and so much crying.
But nothing was really resolved. Unlike the will they-won’t they status of former marrieds Katie (Heather Tom) and Bill. They very much won’t be getting back together. Katie is tired of riding around on that particular merry-go-round and she’s so resolute in her decision that she’s ready to break the news to Will.
Dear Dollar Bill Junior, Mommy and Daddy are calling it quits…again…for the final, final time. For now. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
