The Bold and the Beautiful recap for February 17-21, 2020, features a dastardly plan bearing fruit, a couple planning on taking a break for very selfless reasons, and more.
Awkward dinner parties are the best! Especially when they’re hosted by a deliciously devious psychopath in aide of proposing to their latest conquest all in the hopes that the question will spur their son into a panic and force him to beg an uninterested party to intercede on his behalf.
Sure, it’s all very complicated. And sure, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) probably should have waited till he and Zoe (Kiara Barnes) had been dating for at least a month before popping the question.
The quickness of his proposal made even Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) the tiniest bit suspicious so you know that was a major miscalculation. But, in the end, Thomas’swicked plan succeeded.
He has a new fiancée and a desperate Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) spent an entire episode frantically begging Hope (Annika Noelle) to marry his daddy so he wouldn’t have to have a third mommy. And we’d be darned if Hope didn’t look tempted.
Thomas: “You know what? I am obsessed, but it’s a healthy obsession.” Umm…collecting baseball cards or vintage vinyl is a healthy obsession. This? This is just troubling.
Brooke: “You’re gonna find out, Ridge, soon enough that I was right about him all along.” A) Yes, he will B) He won’t thank you for being right and C) He will never actually admit that he was in the wrong.
Vinny: “I get that you’re never giving up on Hope, but the way you’re going about it — using your kid and Zoe…” You know you’re in trouble when the drug-selling, party monster is making better sense than you are.
Amelia: “Why wouldn’t she be into Thomas? …I’ve always had a massive crush on him.” What is up with all the young women on this soap?
Sally: “Katie…What I need from you is discretion. So, do I have your word that you are not gonna say a word to anyone about my condition?” “Absolutely,” thought Katie (Heather Tom). “I’ve only told Bill (Don Diamont)…and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) who in turn told Flo (Shauna), so your secret is definitely safe with me.”
Flo: “If I can’t sit on the sidelines while you spend time with someone you care about, whose dying…Then I don’t deserve you or us.” Yea, because sending your lover into the arms of another woman — dying or otherwise — has really paid off dividends for other soap heroines.
Hope: “Are you saying I’m naïve or stupid?” Both! You’re stupid when it comes to Thomas and his machinations in particular and you’re a naïve young woman in general. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes
