The Bold and the Beautiful Recap: Liam and Hope Mourned Beth

The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Monday, January 7 features the fallout over the death of baby Beth as Liam and Hope share the news of their devastating loss with their families.

Joy Interrupted
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Bill (Don Diamont) rushed into Hope’s (Annika Noelle) room where she and Liam (Scott Clifton) and have been dealing with the loss of their baby. Hope asked to speak to her mother alone and informed her that Beth is gone.

Male Bonding
Liam told the same news to Bill and Ridge and Bill embraced Liam, who lets out an anguished cry. Liam couldn’t figure out why something like this would happen to Hope since she radiates goodness.

Medical Matters
Dr. Buckingham handed Liam the necessary paperwork related to Beth’s death. Liam vented his anger on Reese, demanding to know what happened since Hope was having a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Hope told Brooke that she lost the baby due to placental abruption. Hope said she passed out when Beth began having problems.

Reese’s Explanation
Dr. Buckingham explained placental abruption to Bill. The doctor reminded Liam that he’s a father too and that he’s terribly, terribly sorry for his loss.

Later, Liam, Bill, and Ridge re-enter Hope’s room and she said she just wanted to go home. Liam said going forward wouldn’t be easy, but they will because they have people who care about them.

Liam told Hope life moves on, but Hope stoically corrected him by saying one life (Beth’s) would never go on. He then talked to Beth even though she could not hear him. He told his angel she is loved, while Hope told her daughter that her spirit will always be with her.
