The Bold and the Beautiful recap for June 1-5, 2020, features a look back at some of the soap’s biggest rivalries and classic clashes.

The Bold and the Beautiful Recaps Highlight

There was Stephanie (Susann Flannery) vs. Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Brooke vs. Taylor (Hunter Tylo). Liam (Scott Clifton) vs. Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) vs…well, everyone. Plus we witnessed the first of many bouts between Sally (Darlene Conley) and her greatest foe. No, not Stephanie. H20!

The Deep End

Sally Spectra was not a woman to be trifled with. But Stephanie Forrester wasn’t the kind of lady who’d let a rival shove her into a swimming pool. So when the two fought near the structure it was of course the former who took a tumble inside. We saw the first time this past week…but it certainly wasn’t the last.

Goodbye Party

Sheila Carter had…problems. She had drugged and slept with a married man, switched her dead baby for a still breathing one, and she’d accidentally killed a person or two. (RIP that meter reader and Doctor Jay Garvin.)

She thought that she would achieve satisfaction and get a modicum of closure if she could assassinate some of the people that she blamed most for her troubles – namely Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) and Stephanie.

But Ridge (then-Ronn Moss) and (believe it or not) Brooke got in her way. Then Sheila decided that the easiest way out of her predicament was suicide. The assembled would-be victims tried to stop her, and she found comfort in the sentiment. But she still drank the poison. She didn’t die though. She still had years and years full of crazy shenanigans ahead of her.

Stephanie Forrester Expresses Herself

Brooke had been trying Stephanie’s patience for years. She’d stolen the woman’s husband and bore him two children. Then she turned around and slept with his son, her children’s brother. To Stephanie, it all seemed a tad incestuous.

But she had let it slide. However, she was not going to abide by Brooke’s decision to pursue her youngest son, Thorne (Winsor Harmon). She tracked her rival down to the family’s cabin – which Brooke had turned into her own personal “bordello” – and proceeded to express her disdain by punching Brooke in the face (!), pinning her to a wall, and attempting to strangle the life out her. She didn’t succeed, of course. These two had (over) another decade of feuding still ahead.

Let Them Eat Cake

It’s fair to say that Brooke and Taylor never really got along. But they had tried for their children’s sake. However, Taylor had reached the conclusion that Liam’s decision to marry Hope (Annika Noelle) and leave her daughter (Steffy) out in the cold wasn’t a good and proper one. So, she armed herself with handfuls of wedding cake and let Brooke have it. Talk about pent up rage.

The Truth Will Out

Liam hated Thomas. Thomas hated Liam. Thomas loved Hope – who was really in love with Liam. It’s pretty much your standard love triangle starring two star-crossed lovers and a psychopath.

There was also the added complication of a baby switch. Pssst…did you know that Phoebe is really baby Beth? Douglas (Joseph Samiri) knew. And he told Liam all about it. Liam in turn told Hope. And Thomas, in response, punched Liam unconscious and tried to abscond with Hope. But he didn’t quite make it.

BB Musings

The “formula” that Stephanie was so sure that Macy pilfered was BeLieF, the anti-wrinkle concoction that Brooke invented. It was actually stolen by Jake (Todd McKee). The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
