Soaps are all about conflict, so triangles are a necessary component of daytime drama. However, there are so many triangles on The Bold and the Beautiful one might need to keep a geometry book on hand!
The Bold and the Beautiful Polling
Should this soap hold off on love triangles for a while? Soap Hub asked BB fans this question. Read on for the results!
Maybe Hold Off
A little over 84% say that yes, you’d like to see BB step away from triangles for a while. Let’s take a look at Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). The long-running heroine is in triangles with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Shauna (Denise Richards), and in the past, has been in one with Bill (Don Diamont) and Katie (Heather Tom), and technically, in one with Ridge and Bill, too. Quinn (Rena Sofer) likely sees Brooke as a threat to her marriage to Eric (John McCook), too.
This is just one character! All the others (Hi, Liam!) are in more than one triangle, too! Though, Liam’s (Scott Clifton) primary triangle is with Hope (Annika Noelle) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Love Cubed
The rest of The Bold and the Beautiful fans polled, just under 16%, say that you love the triangles on BB. The show was founded on such triangles involving Brooke, Ridge, and Caroline (Joanna Johnson), and later, Brooke, Ridge, and Taylor (Hunter Tylo). Conflict is the lifeblood of any great soap opera. Watching characters torn over who they want to be with is one of the main reasons viewers tune in on a daily basis.
Story Matters
BB is known for far more than its triangles. The show has delved into social issue tales including breast cancer, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, and homelessness. There’s a myriad of other subjects BB could address, helping to fill the void should the show pull back on its triangles. Stay tuned to see what happens next! The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
