In recent months, we’ve bid adieu to some newer characters on The Young and the Restless. Now, the time has come for some new players to come on to stir up the mix in Genoa City!
Soap Opera Digest reports that the show is looking to cast:
- Don, a tall and handsome African-American man, 30-40 years old
- Claire, a 20-something beauty, who is “fierce, clever, unapologetically ambitious, and possesses a keen intuition that drives getting what and who she wants.”
- Caleb, who is “smart, ambitious and has a rebellious streak.”
- Ella, who’ll be a member of the teen set, described as a “lovely, poised spunky girl.”
Who might these characters interact with? Don could be a candidate in Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) quest to become a mom and/or he could be a love interest for any of the eligible (or not so eligible) leading ladies in town.
Claire could be a love interest for Devon (Bryton James) or Noah (Robert Adamson) now that both men are single once more. Though, this could be a recast of Summer (Hunter King, now a series regular on Life In Pieces).
There wasn’t an age given for Caleb so, depending on how old he is, he could be placed in a few different stories. Perhaps, “Caleb” is a recast for the much-missed Adam (last played by Justin Hartley).
Ella, a member of the teen set, will most likely interact with Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu), Mattie (Lexie Stevenson), and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry). While described as “lovely,” what that young group could really use is a “have not” who makes Mattie’s life difficult and sets her sights on Reed!
Soap Hub will keep Y&R fans apprised of developments as these roles are cast.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
