The Bold and the Beautiful star, Thorsten Kaye, won his second Daytime Emmy for Best Actor in a row last Friday night. After the ceremony, Soap Hub caught up with the star, who portrays Ridge Forrester, and he thanked one special woman.
Special Thanks
The special woman Kaye thanked wasn’t his daughter, McKenna. Of course, he was thrilled to have her by his side as he took home the statue again. Kaye said that having his daughter by his side “meant everything. That’s why any kind of awards show makes sense.” He admitted that he wasn’t much of an awards show guy but that celebrating with his daughter was special to him.
Of course, Kaye had somebody else to thank. “I’d like to thank Alley Mills,” he said as she walked up to him after the ceremony. She sticks to me like glue. It’s the weirdest thing,” he revealed, smiling. “I made him come tonight,” she said.
Mills, who was also nominated in the Guest Performer category for her work on General Hospital as Heather, portrays Pam on B&B. While she didn’t take home the Daytime Emmy this year (that honor went to the legendary Dick Van Dyke for his work on Days of our Lives), she did win the category last year.
Mills told us that he would’ve won no matter what, so he couldn’t thank her for that. But she said, “I taught him everything about acting.”
The actress convinced him to attend the Daytime Emmys this year after he skipped out on the event last year, and he won. The two shared some light-hearted banter after the ceremony, and it was clear that they enjoyed each other. Check out some of our post-Daytime Emmy discussion with these two powerhouse actors in the short clip below.
While we’re not sure what may or may not be coming up on B&B for either Ridge or Pam, we can say we’d love to see these two in scenes together if the storyline calls for it. They have a fun friendship, and we’d love to see some of that on-screen.
