Italy was a turning point in Brooke and Ridge’s relationship on The Bold and the Beautiful. Brooke’s near-death accident made Ridge realize that he can’t be without his Logan. But is there more to Brooke’s accident than meets the eye?
Brooke Risks It All?
During the Forresters’ recent business trip, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) found herself in a perilous situation. Irritated by Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) refusal to come back to her, Brooke left on a boat ride with Nick (Jack Wagner). Lying on the back of the boat, Brooke soaked up the sun as Nick steered. But the blissful moment was cut short when the boat crashed and sent Brooke overboard.
A panicked Ridge watched from shore and immediately dived into the sea to rescue Brooke. Luckily, Brooke survived and was reunited with her destiny. Almost losing Brooke made Ridge realize that she was his true love, and he wanted to be with her.
If it wasn’t for the accident, Bridge might not have reunited. Some fans believe that’s exactly what Brooke wanted. On X, a theory suggests that Brooke staged the incident. “I’m starting to suspect that Brooke set up the entire boat incident in Italy so Ridge could save her and use the thing to her favor,” the original poster theorized.
Most fans found the theory ridiculous; however, a few didn’t count out the possibility. “Who lies on top of a boat like that?” one commenter asked. “Why was she on the boat instead of in it. She wanted to cause trouble,” wrote another fan.
Brooke risking her life to gain Ridge’s attention seems far-fetched. However, Brooke does have a history of scheming to keep Ridge. Who could forget her hiding Caroline’s (Joanna Johnson) love letter to Ridge? Or how she kept Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) paternity from Ridge?
Whether Brooke staged the accident remains a debate. But it did its purpose in reuniting her and Ridge.
