In the Thursday, May 2 episode, Sheila returned home to the apartment she shares with Deacon above Il Giardino. She’s recovering from her ordeal while wearing a robe and eating pizza. She started telling the story of how she got into her predicament. She also said some things that were so suspicious, including her protecting and loving Steffy. What?
Back at Deacon’s place, Sheila’s recovery period began with her eating a lot of pizza. No doubt it’s been a few weeks since she’s eaten. Deacon (Sean Kanan) sat beside her, acting every bit like the doting significant other. And Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) acted every inch of the victim that she really isn’t. Yes, if we’re to believe everything she’s saying and the raggedy way she looks, she has been through an awful experience.
It involved the texts from Sugar (also Kimberlin Brown), and then she wanted to meet. And ultimately, Sugar abducted her while she was running errands. In flashback, we saw the two “Sheilas” at the abandoned warehouse. Sugar chained up Sheila and proceeded to unleash her pent-up anger. That anger that came from being locked up for crimes that never would have happened had she not met Sheila Carter in prison.
What was a bit sad was when Sugar said she thought Sheila was her friend. And then, her friend tricked her into getting plastic surgery to look identical to her. Well, she had been thinking about revenge for a long time. What she was going to do was commit a bunch of crimes looking like Sheila, so Sheila would have to pay the price for Sugar’s sins this time. (Find out what happens on the next B&B here)
Deacon told her she’d be back to her old self before she knew it. And Finn (Tanner Novlan) said having her back was everything. EVERYTHING. He held her hand like they’d been close family for years. And they listened to her story about how all of this madness and insanity went down.
And they treated her like she was the wronged one. When Sheila told them about how Sugar would go after Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), her two favorite men didn’t blink an eye when she said she begged Sugar not to hurt Steffy or the children. Understandably, Sheila would do what it took to protect the kids. But Steffy? (Find out what Sheila’s return really means)
And then she said to Finn that she loved him, Steffy, and the kids “more than I love myself.” What? Sheila couldn’t care less about Steffy. What’s more, Finn talked about how this woman terrorized and brutalized his mom. But through it all, he appreciated her defense of his family, including his wife.
Hopefully, the fact that Sheila terrorized this woman first isn’t completely lost in the shuffle. What’s understandable is Sugar’s need for revenge. But not for the brutality of going after Steffy. Did she mean to die? Was she in so much pain that this was the result she wanted? Because if it was, it backfired. Steffy is still alive, and Sheila simply suffered while chained up for weeks.
The ten toes and nine toes of it all have been sussed out so Sheila won’t suffer any consequences for attacking Steffy. What we need to keep an eye on is Sheila. Why is she acting so OOC (out of character) and protective of Steffy? Are we supposed to believe this entire story? With this show, you never know what’s going to happen.
