Prime time shows like Chicago PD have always seen the value in hiring familiar faces for their casts. As there are, arguably, no one more popular than soap opera stars, Soap Hub is playing armchair casting director to help fill a spot created by the Dick Wolf series.
Chicago PD is looking for a series regular — an actress to play the role of Yara Page, who is described as a woman who is approximately 27 to 35 years in age and is Black and attractive.
A born and raised Chicagoan, Yara is a physically fit cop, who works as a patrol officer when viewers are introduced to her. Yara was raised by a single parent, her hardworking father, as she is the result of a one-night stand. She has a relationship with her wealthy mother, but that woman is described as cold — someone whose love is given on conditions such as accomplishment, education and following the rules.
Alas, Yara has never fit in with either world. Her role as a police officer brings meaning and identity to her life.
Soap Hub can think of at least four different actresses who’d be right for this role. There’s Cassandra Creech (ex-Denise, As the World Turns, who more recently popped up on Bold and the Beautiful as Grace), Karla Mosley (ex-Maya, B&B), and Loren Lott (ex-Ana, Young and the Restless). There’s one more, too! Even though Mishael Morgan (Amanda/ex-Hilary, Y&R) has already appeared in the Chicago universe — as Chicago MD‘s Dr. Dr. Petra Dupree — she could join that show’s sister program. After all, who better than Morgan knows about playing dual roles?
