Every soap opera introduces a new generation to keep things innovative and fresh. The Bold and the Beautiful brought many young characters into the fold. Earlier this year, it was about Luna and RJ. And now, we’re witnessing Will and Electra’s love story unfold. But who will lead these dueling families into the next decade and beyond?
Who will become the next generation of Forrester and Spencer men? The CBS soap started with Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Bill (Don Diamont) as the heads of their families. Speaking of which, these men are good at butting heads.
They need their sons around to lead their family companies into the future. Liam (Scott Clifton) has taken a backseat to Will (Crew Morrow), who’s working for the enemy. (Find Out How Liam Lost His Leading Man Status.)
Will has gotten comfortable with his internship at Forrester Creations. He’s also cozying up to Electra (Laneya Grace). Let’s not forget that their brother Wyatt (Darin Brooks) was also pushed off to the wayside.
His character left Los Angeles because he had nothing else to do. Yet, he could’ve been the one to lead Spencer Publications while his dad focused on getting his family back together. Unfortunately, Wyatt was reduced to a side character and a shoulder for Liam to cry on.
The Forresters also lack young leading men. Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) hasn’t been on the show since the summer, however, his name is still mentioned on the show. Not a day goes by when Ridge mentions his son. It is possible that his character could get recast.
Meanwhile, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) disappeared after Luna (Lisa Yamada) was found to be a walking lunatic. He couldn’t be the one to lead FC in the next direction. RJ was an influencer before he worked with his father and grandfather. He wasn’t even interested in a career in fashion.
Thomas was a successful lead designer for Hope for the Future. He has a skill that is hard to replicate. Thomas is already leading man material, especially regarding his relationship with Hope (Annika Noelle). But, every protagonist needs an antagonist. Liam would be more on Thomas’ level. The two have already feuded for years.
