Sheila gave Finn the hard sell in the Wednesday, May 22 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. She gave good guilt, and she gave good drama. But in the end, Finn told her he won’t be able to attend her wedding to Deacon. That’s all and great. Will the doctor be able to stay strong and commit to staying home?
Finn’s RSVP: No Way, No How
Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) did her best. The “changed woman” gave it her all and tried to get Finn (Tanner Novlan) to agree to attend her wedding. Simultaneously, she did what she could not to threaten revenge against his wife for preventing him from RSVPing yes. (Find out more information on Sheila and Deacon’s wedding here)
Was it just us, or did she pull out all the stops to get her son to stand up for Deacon (Sean Kanan) at her wedding? She pulled out all the stops. Moreover, she called him “baby” and said she loved him. Furthermore, she claimed she regretted some of the terrible things she’s done in the past. In addition, she brought up saving Taylor (Krista Allen) on the rooftop and saving Kelly (Sophia Paras McKinlay) at the beach. Every time she pointed out the good things that she’d done, it felt like she would erase each evil thing she’d done, one by one.
On Finn’s part, he seemed to forget all the bad things his birth mom has done every time she brought up something good she did. Both he and Deacon seemed to have developed a special selective amnesia when it comes to Sheila. In the end, Finn said he felt she deserved to have a beautiful day, but she’d have to have it without him. He is committed to his wife and kids, and they are his priority.
The question is: How long will this loyal stance last? The wedding episodes take place tomorrow and Friday. Will Finn end up front and center of the wedding festivities? (Check out information on a Bold and the Beautiful soundtrack here)
Hope’s RSVP: Probably?
While she hasn’t called Deacon back yet, it looked like she leaned towards attending the wedding. She even told Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang — who talks about her 2024 Emmy nomination here) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) about her dad asking her to be Sheila’s maid of honor. However, Hope repeatedly claimed that this was about Deacon and her relationship with him. It had nothing to do with her sudden belief in Sheila’s redemption.
But why can’t she attend the wedding without standing up for Sheila? Why was she adamant about saving her relationship with Deacon when nothing had changed? Sure, Sheila’s no longer “dead,” but she still committed all those awful acts against her family. Deacon and Finn’s memories are shoddy, but everybody else remembers every big and little crime.
