During an interview, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Kimberlin Brown gave a startling remark about where Sheila should go next. The fans loved her idea, and while it’s unlikely, it’s still a very intriguing concept.
If you thought The Young and the Restless’ Joshua Morrow had a radical idea when he said he wanted to pair his character Nick with B&B’s Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), then you haven’t thought far enough outside of the box. Australia’s channel Network 10 airs three of the four remaining American soap operas, with General Hospital being the exception. Its soap opera arm, 10 Soaps, posted an interview to Instagram recently with Kimberlin Brown (Sheila, B&B) that appears to have happened on the red carpet at the 2024 Daytime Emmys.
The interviewer asked, “Tonight in the top category…Best Daytime Drama Series, we’ve got some Aussies in the mix, Neighbours, the Australian soap opera about to turn 40 for the first time. How do you feel about the gang from down under muscling in?” Brown happily responded, “You know, it’s an interesting dynamic. I’m happy for them. I truly am, and I judged in a lot of those categories. It’s an incredibly talented crew. But it’s not shot like a daytime soap opera. It is shot like a primetime show. So it’s, you know, they’re here. I’m very happy for them.”
However, she gave an ominous warning to the cast and crew of Neighbours: “But if they ever let Sheila loose on their set, they’re in trouble!” The interviewer chimed in with, “Now there’s an idea!” Brown responded, “Yeah. Guy Pearce, are you watching this? Because I think, I don’t know…I’m just saying!” The caption to the video read, “Has Sheila got her sights set on Ramsay Street? 👀.”
The Aussie soap takes place in Ernsborough, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, with the town’s Ramsay Street being the central focus. Guy Pearce, star of many major films, including Memento (2000) and Iron Man 3 (2013), among others, starred in nearly 500 episodes of the show starting in 1986 for three years. He returned recently for what was supposed to be the final episode, but when Amazon jumped in to continue producing the show, it has since lived on.
Because Pearce’s character, Mike Young, and his on-again, off-again lover Jane Harris (Annie Jones) had purchased a house on Ramsay Street in that episode, the actor decided to continue his role on the revived series until he could find time to gracefully exit, he told the podcast Good Weekend Talks. He explained, “Obviously, if I’m going to extricate myself from the show, I want to do it respectfully. I wasn’t just gonna go, ‘Well, bad luck. You had your chance, that was it,’ you know. So there may be a little appearance or two, shall we say.”
If somehow, some way, they were able to write Brown into Neighbours as Sheila, that would be amazing, yet highly unlikely. Many fans on the Instagram post responded that they would start watching the show if she were added to it, with one writing, “I hope you’re still gonna be Sheila Carter in this! You’re the best villainess ever, and the Aussies have no idea what’s coming! 🖤🧡🔥🦇.”
And one follower with a long memory made the compelling argument: “Remember when Sheila returned to Y&R, she used a dark wig and spoke in an Australian accent, calling herself Jennifer Mitchell? Maybe she can become Jennifer again 😂😂.”
