B&B Star Thorsten Kaye Celebrates His Birthday

On The Bold and the Beautiful Ridge was thrilled that his dad survived his recent illness. Thorsten Kaye also has something thrilling, and he may have a big party to celebrate.

Kaye was born in Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany on February 22, 1966, which means he’s turning 58 years old. Kaye got his start on the stage. He appeared in The Winter’s Tale, Tartuffe, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet, Love’s Labour’s Lost, Twelfth Night, and The Taming of the Shrew, in London and in Detroit’s Hilberry Repertory Company.

Soap fans first came to know Kaye as Patrick Thornhart, Marty’s love, on One Life to Live. After he left Llanview, Kaye moved over to Port Charles to play Dr. Ian Thornhart.

Following the show’s cancellation, he joined the cast of All My Children as Zach in 2004 and stayed with it until the show ended in 2011. He later appeared in the show’s short-lived online incarnation.

Since 2013, Kaye has played Ridge on the CBS soap opera. During his time at B&B, Kaye’s character has fallen out of a helicopter, made out with his father’s wife, and married his true love.

Kaye also appeared in a television miniseries called Nothing Lasts Forever. Air America and Falcone are among his TV credits. In 2011, he starred in the psychological thriller, Occupant. Other feature films he appeared in are The Silencers (1996), The Prophet’s Game (2000), and Shark Attack 2 (2000).

Off-screen, the actor is partnered with his former OLTL leading lady, Susan Haskell (ex-Marty). Together, they have two daughters, McKenna and Marlowe.
