On the agenda for the Forresters and Logans: shift their mentalities from the Thomas/Hope era to the Thomas/Paris era. It’s easier for some than others. Having the hardest time is Hope. However, it’s good that she has her friend Finn to help guide her way there. There were multiple examples of moving on in the Monday, July 8 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. But were they all genuine?
When Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) asked Hope (Annika Noelle) to marry him again, we wondered if this was a genuine ask or something else. It turned out it fell in the something else category. It was a test he knew she’d fail. She blustered about how he moved on from their relationship too quickly and entered another one with Paris (Diamond White). But Hope couldn’t say yes to his popped question. Whether this switch from Hope to Paris is genuine or not, it had to be a blow to Hope’s ego.
Did Thomas genuinely gravitate towards Paris in Paris? Or is this part of his plan to get Hope back? And not just in a relationship but actually get her to say yes to him before the end of the year. So far, we can’t tell. But something doesn’t feel right at the moment. More importantly, does Paris know about Thomas’s plan? And on top of that, is Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) in on it?
Later, Hope was part of another shift. At Forrester Creations, she was processing Thomas’s pseudo proposal and maybe her entire existence when Finn walked into Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) office. And just like that…Hope got a little bit of that lovin’ Finn (Tanner Novlan) feeling back. Even though he took the opportunity to lightly slam Thomas.
We hoped the show would drop Hope’s feelings for Finn’s situation when Thomas returned to Los Angeles. Wishful thinking, of course. We will have to watch Hope hold a torch for these two guys for the foreseeable future, right? Where is this all going to lead? Will Thomas eventually figure out Hope has feelings for Finn? How will he react?
Finally, Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Finn talked at the hospital. She encouraged her son to move on from wanting anything to do with Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Li sounded like a broken record, but did you notice that some of the narrative shifted to also include Li warning Finn to stop letting Hope influence him? Yes, he now needed to stay away from Sheila and Hope. Something tells us that that’s going to be harder said than done.
What do you think about Thomas’s motives? Is he messing with Hope, or is he genuine in wanting to move on with Paris? Is anything going to happen between Hope and Finn? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
