The Bold and the Beautiful Star Thorsten Kaye Celebrates His Birthday

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge is off somewhere licking his wounds after getting dumped by both Taylor and Brooke — at least for now. Off-screen, actor Thorsten Kaye is celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because he was born on February 22, 1966, in Frankfurt, West Germany, which means that this beloved actor is turning 57 years old today! Kaye’s acting career was jumpstarted by his frequent appearances on the stage in classic shows such as Macbeth, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Winter’s Tale.

In the early 1990s, he relocated to Los Angeles where he landed cameo parts in two made-for-television films, Deadly Desire and Nothing Lasts Forever. In 1996, he moved to New York and joined the cast of the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live where he would play Patrick Thornhart until 1997.

Subsequently, he appeared in episodes of Sliders, Air America, and Falcone as well as three feature films — The Silencers (1996), The Prophet’s Game (2000), and Shark Attack 2 (2000).

Between 2000 and 2003, he starred on the supernatural soap Port Charles and upon its cancellation, he accepted an offer extended by producers of yet another ABC soap, All My Children.

His performance as Zach Slater won him immense praise and numerous accolades (including two Daytime Emmy Award nominations). His other work includes a recurring role on the NBC serial Smash and a guest-starring role on Falling Water. He has played The Bold and the Beautiful’s Ridge Forrester since 2013.

Outside of his acting, Kaye is known for co-authorship of two books; From Timber Ridge to Daytime Gardens: A Journey in Words and A Solid Wheel of Colored Ribbons.
