B&B’s Tanner Novlan Talks ‘Little Puke’ Liam Making a Move on Steffy

Finn, played by Tanner Novlan, knows in his head that Steffy did the right thing by killing his mother, Sheila, on The Bold and the Beautiful. But his heart is mourning the loss of the woman who brought him into the world. Moving forward, it’s possible that Liam, Steffy’s ex, will take advantage of the fallout from Sheila’s passing. Novlan is weighing in on that and other matters.

Oh, That ‘Little Puke’ Liam!

Novlan dropped by the YouTube talk show BOLD Live, hosted by the show’s supervising producer, Casey Kasprzyk to talk about his current storyline. In short, there’s conflict between Finn and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) because she stabbed her homicidal mother-in-law in self-defense.

There’s speculation as to whether or not wicked Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) is truly, most sincerely dead this time (she has cheated death before, after all) but one thing’s for sure — Novlan is going to miss seeing his TV birth mother.

“Everyone brings something different, but Kimberlin always brings such a strong point of view,” Novlan shared. “She’s played this character for so long, and she knows it so well…we got to figure out a lot about our relationship.” The actor adds he’ll miss not only the energy Brown brought to set but also the tips she’d give him on his avocado tree.

This isn’t the first time Novlan’s played Finn’s reaction to Sheila’s death (remember when she was “fatally mauled” by the big bad bear?) — but this time, it’s different as his own wife is responsible for Sheila’s death. “I think he’s in shock right now,” Novlan suggests.

If Liam (Scott Clifton) makes another move on Steffy while she and Finn are in conflict, he runs the risk of Finn calling him a “little puke” again. Kasprzyk pointed out to Novlan that Finn’s remark is a bit legendary, which prompted Novlan to give Soap Hub a shout-out.

“Michael [Maloney], one of the guys who covers us, from Soap Hub mentioned that when we were at The Talk and Scott was right there,” chuckles Novlan. “I don’t know if [Sheila’s death] opens the door for Liam…[but] you know Liam, he’ll swarm in any way he can. Scott does such a great job with his part. We have a scene coming up. Maybe that will answer some questions?”
