Last week was an exciting and dramatic week on The Bold and Beautiful. Finn finally tracked down Steffy, and he managed to rescue her from Luna. Then, he carried Steffy into their home. Tanner Novlan spoke with Soap Hub about what it was like to film the intense scenes, how it was to kick down the door, and where Finn and Steffy go from here.
Finn seemed to know from almost the beginning that something wasn’t right after Steffy left. Novlan said, “I think it’s that feeling that something’s not right. Finn felt that because of that deep connection that they’ve had from the moment they saw each other.”
When Finn finally arrived at Luna’s (Lisa Yamada) old apartment, he literally busted down the door to get to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Novlan gave us some behind-the-scenes details about what went into the rescue scenes.
“I think the storyline was really, really fun, and I think having Finn blindsided, that his cousin, he’s known his whole life, Luna, would commit something like this and then to find his wife there is obviously very worrisome. Shooting it was actually fun,” he said.
One of the most dramatic and impressive parts of the rescue was Finn literally kicking down the door. Guess what? Novlan kicked it himself. “I booted that door down,” the actor revealed. “It was triple bolted, too. It was solid oak. It was a four-inch thick door, believe it or not.” As for that dramatic board flying when Finn burst in. “I don’t think the board flying off was planned, but it was perfect,” he said.

Earlier this summer, Steffy and Finn had a conflict over his biological mom, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Now that another of Finn’s family members has harmed his wife, it might be easy for Steffy to pull away. However, Novlan doesn’t think that will be the case. “I think this is one of those opportunities that absolutely will make them stronger,” declared Novlan.
“It’s really fun to play, you know, a married couple with kids, and to still have conflict and these ups and downs in their relationship,” he said. Finn’s goal is to grow from their beginning and get stronger. “I think now they’re in a place of reminding how much they love each other and how connected they are at the end of the day,” Novlan revealed.
As for Steffy’s tendency to leave the country when she and Finn have an argument, Novlan said that Finn is concerned about that. “Yeah, I think he definitely has concerns that she does that. It’s her reverting back to her old ways, and that’s him trying to get her to stay and fight and I think it’s old wounds coming up from her past and previous relationships,” the actor said.
“He wants so badly for her to be able to grow from that past and not revert to running, so when she ran away this time it was very worrisome for him because he wants to help her overcome those insecurities.”
The reunited couple has spent time together and will enjoy some moments with their two children. Does Novlan think Finn and Steffy are considering adding to their family? “I think the more characters on the canvas, the better,” he said. “That’s true. Yeah, “I’d love another Sinnabon, why not?”

While talking with Novlan, we also asked for an update on the Liberty Biberty merchandise he had earlier this summer. Unfortunately, it was so popular that it sold out. All is not lost, though. “Who knows? Maybe stay tuned and follow me on socials [find his Instagram here] and stuff. Maybe we’ll do another one. It’s funny. People have been asking again. So maybe we’ll do another one,” he said.
