Deacon Sharpe has turned his life around in many respects on The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, his portrayer, Sean Kanan, wants to help folks who are looking to improve their health by getting fit, not just for the holidays but for the rest of their lives. Soap Hub chatted with the actor about how he can help you for this week’s Wellness Wednesday feature.

Sean Kanan: The Heart of the Matter

On Sunday, December 17, at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, Kanan is holding a “BLUEPRINT to Weight Loss” seminar on Zoom. The actor has worked on his own physical fitness and addressed how to obtain goals in life in his two books, Way of the Cobra and Welcome to the Kumite.

“For years, I have struggled with mine, but over the last few years, I have shed 50 pounds,” Kanan reports. “It has changed my life, and I would like to share this gift with anyone who wants it. Ready to make 2024 the year you finally lose the weight? Using out-of-the-box strategies, nutritional common sense, and psychological hacks, I WILL show you how to do it.” Click here for registration information.

If Not Now, Then When

Kanan knows that this is a particularly hard time of the year for folks to lose weight, given the approaching festive weeks and, in many places, colder weather. “The holidays are a challenge for people,” he tells Soap Hub. “You don’t want to get knocked off track.”

The B&B restaurant owner (read about some famous faces who appeared as servers at Il Giardino) isn’t suggesting folks go cold turkey but rather to change the way they relate to food and the way they eat. “What’s your relationship with food?” he rhetorically asks. “Some see it as a reward. You need to look at food more as nutrition than a reward. You don’t have to be perfect [but] being conscious of what you’re eating can help change how you relate to food and what you eat.

Kanan is offering people who sign up for his seminar and coaching a new path. “If you [do things] consistently and effectively, you don’t have to worry about results,” he says. “They will come. They may not look exactly like what you want them to look like, but they will happen.”

The Love You Make

Kanan says he got into coaching after folks who read his tomes started reaching out with questions. He says he gets back as much as he gives to his clients — if not more. “Seeing someone who is struggling and being able to help turn their lives around has been wonderful,” he says.

“People may look at me and think my life is perfect [but] I’ve had my struggles,” Kanan reveals. “Everyone does. Having a lot of money or finding the great job or the great relationship doesn’t make them all automatically go away. Everyone encounters challenges and obstacles. The question is — how do you come back from them?”

Final Thoughts

“Give me two hours [on December 17], and I will give you the tools to finally free yourself from the pain, frustration, and negative health issues associated with being overweight,” Kanan concludes. “I’ve been where you are. Take action, and let’s do this! You can thank me next time I see less of you.”
