And just like that…Finn saved Steffy in the September 4 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. The SINN reunion was much welcome. However, Li cornering Luna means that her niece is trapped. Please don’t let this be the end of Loona. We’ve enjoyed this new, more psychotic version of the sweet-and-innocent Luna we knew for months and months.
Regardless of how everything played out, this Luna/Loona (Lisa Yamada) double murder mystery was a refreshing escape from the family feuds, Brooke’s Bedroom social media drops, and the Hope (Annika Noelle) kissing Finn (Tanner Novlan) conversations. Once again, Lisa Yamada was a rock star who portrayed a woman whose traumatic past affected her present. Luna wasn’t a nice girl after all. Instead, she was a gold-digging criminal who would stoop to murder, kidnapping, and drugging just to get the life she wanted.
And she resented the hell out of her mother, which suggests Nozawa Girl power never meant anything. Luna resented her mom so much that she framed her for the double murder. She engineered the “oopsy” night with Zende (Delon de Metz) to needle her mom. Just think if the show had let this lunatic version of Luna way before that evil smirk she gave after kissing Bill (Don Diamont) the first time.
Of course, the cops weren’t on top of this Luna situation at all. Chief Baker (Dan Martin) should have suspected something when Luna sat before him and threw her mom under the bus. Instead, Finn turned from doctor to expert detective. He traveled around the city quickly, asking all the right questions and making the right deductions. And then, in Wednesday’s episode, he confronted Luna at Forrester but didn’t let her know he was on to her.
Well, she did suspect it because she was about to make a hasty retreat. Right when Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) begged for her freedom, Finn kicked down the door in hero mode and surprised Luna. The action was a bit jarring because it all happened so fast. Too bad they didn’t stretch out the madness a little bit longer.
Let’s hope that Luna doesn’t just disappear into the prison system, out of town, or something more permanent. There are things we need to see.
For example, we need Luna to be able to confront the people she wronged head-on. A conversation between Luna and Poppy (Romy Park) needs to happen. Would she be able to tell RJ (Joshua Hoffman) that he was just a boy to his face? After all, RJ is about to have a broken heart. He should get to see the person he really fell in love with. It probably won’t happen, but we would love to see a chat between Luna and Zende, too. As for Deacon (Sean Kanan), he lost his two friends in the world. He deserves a face-to-face with the person that killed them.
