Scott Clifton has a lot being thrown at him lately. From playing Liam facing death on The Bold and the Beautiful, to dealing with one of his X, formerly Twitter, accounts being suspended, he’s certainly got his hands full. However, he took some time recently to look at the brighter side of life and shared a wonderful message about his son on social media.
A Very Mature Son
On Instagram, Clifton posted several photos of his son, Ford, and wrote a lengthy tribute that started with, “Introducing Ford Robert Clifton, the Preteen.” He then recalled that he had to Google the word ‘preteen’ after his son told him he’d be one on his next birthday. The actor wasn’t prepared that his nine-year-old would soon be transforming into “the official prototype of a hormonal, smelly, rebellious, girl-curious, independence-hungry young man who’d rather suffer a thousand geometry textbook paper cuts than be caught telling his lame dad ‘I love you too’ in public.”
However, he remarked that his son does say ‘I love you,’ “often, openly, and without solicitation or self-consciousness. They were the last words to escape you last night, falling gently asleep on my lap as we processed the day.” He explained that Ford had a very mature reaction to his parents’ divorce, and gushed, “My God, you made a canvas out of Kevlar.”

His Hero
Clifton went on to say that he was proud of his son in every aspect of his personality and growth, stating, “I wish I could tell myself from one year ago that it’s okay to exhale, because you will always be everything at once to me: my child, my teen, my man, my hero. My Ford.” He lovingly ended his tribute with, “I love you. Happy ninth birthday.”
His on-screen dad, Don Diamont (Bill), responded, “‼️🎉🎉🎉‼️💙,” while supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk also shared the emojis: “🎉🎉🎉.” The photos attached were of Ford enjoying himself in various ways, and the final was one of his drawings, to which a fan responded by suggesting, “With those gorgeous illustrations, you and Ford could write books 📚.”
And another follower lovingly responded, “🥹🥹🥹 you’re such a great dad. And not too shabby of a writer as well!! 😍🤩🫶.”
