There’s no doubt that Rebecca Budig and Thorsten Kaye have sizzling on-screen chemistry. The two go all the way back to All My Children. The soap stars brought some of that magic back to The Bold and the Beautiful. Budig is fitting in nicely with her new role as Dr. Taylor Hayes. She brings a lightness to the character that’s never been done before, and Budig’s friendship with Kaye translates well on screen.
In a new interview with Soaps.com, Budig revealed what working with her AMC co-star on B&B is like. Greenlee Smythe and Zach Slater never had a romantic connection on the ABC soap. Greenlee was involved with Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison), while Zach’s one true love was Kendall Hart (Alicia Minshew).
Now, they get to test out their chemistry as Ridge and Taylor. B&B fans are aware of the characters’ complicated relationship with each other throughout the years. No matter what happens, they still love one another. Budig and Kaye convey that perfectly in their scenes. Budig teased, “I feel like we have chemistry, but I don’t know if he agrees! We never really worked together in a situation where we were playing a relationship.”
Greenlee and Zach shared many scenes together, but only as friends. Taking on the roles of Taylor and Ridge is different for the duo. Budig jumped at the opportunity to work with Kaye again. She admitted that she “adores him” but joked that he would get a big head if he were to find out.
“I love Thorsten a lot, and I have known him a long time, so there’s sort of a history there that helped us connect on screen quickly,” Budig added.

For many soap fans, AMC’s “Zendall” resembles “Tridge.” Both couples have a dedicated fanbase and some of the greatest love stories on daytime television. Of course, either relationship isn’t perfect, as it was destroyed by infidelity.
Regardless, Taylor claims that her broken heart is healed. She also declared that she is over Ridge. Her Broken Heart Syndrome was primarily linked to the loss of their daughter Phoebe (Mackenzie Mauzy). It’s anyone’s guess what will happen to this on-and-off pairing.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) will feel betrayed by Ridge for escorting her daughter Hope (Annika Noelle) out of Forrester Creations. This will surely create a dent in their relationship. Meanwhile, Ridge and Taylor will continue to bond amid her battle with Broken Heart Syndrome.
