It’s been four months since Matthew Atkinson’s last appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful. Since then fans have been wondering when or if the actor will return. Based off the star’s recent social media activity, it appears he might be done with the soap opera.
Show’s Name Missing From Bio
During Atkinson’s absence, fans have kept a close eye on his Instagram page, looking for clues about a possible return. Well, they got their answer when the actor seemingly dropped a major hint about his B&B future.
Recently, fans noticed that the actor removed B&B from his Instagram bio. Although there’s been no official confirmation about Atkinson’s contract status, many people consider this a sign that he’s left the show.
Atkinson joined the show in 2019 and quickly gained the audience’s attention. The writers turned Thomas into a villain when he became obsessed with Hope (Annika Noelle). Although Thomas was the antagonist to supercouple Hope and Liam (Scott Clifton), fans loved the bad boy.
In a shocking turn of events, Hope and Thomas finally became a couple in 2023. Dubbed Thope by supporters, the pair were on their way to becoming B&B’s next power couple. But their relationship ended in March 2024 when Hope rejected Thomas’ marriage proposal. A heartbroken Thomas then moved to France with his son Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri).
Thomas returned in June to make the surprising announcement that he and Paris (Diamond White) were engaged. Hope’s attempts to convince Thomas to break off his engagement failed. He and Paris then left town, ready to start planning their future.
While Thomas’ departure ended on a happy note, there’s still unfinished business with him and Hope. The door is open for a Thomas return, but will it be Atkinson or another actor playing the role?
