The Bold and the Beautiful's Matthew Atkinson announced a new addition to his growing family.
On The Bold and the Beautiful, Thomas has been a father to Douglas since the boy was born in 2016. In real life, Thomas’ portrayer Matthew Atkinson got engaged to Brytnee Ratledge in June 2023, and the two were wed in November of that year. Now, Atkinson has another major announcement, and he may want to look at Thomas’ mistakes to inform himself moving forward.
Atkinson shared several beautiful photos of himself and Ratledge on the beach where she showed off her baby bump. He began with a Biblical quote: “‘Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children of one’s youth.’ – Psalm 127:4.” The actor then added, “@moorelovephoto absolutely crushing our maternity pictures! Now back to the wild, beautiful ride of new parenthood.”
The Young and the Restless’ Courtney Hope (Sally) shared two responses, the first being, “Congrats!!!” and the second a smiling face with heart-eyes emoji, while Y&R’s Tracey Bregman (Lauren) responded with three hearts. On B&B, Thomas used his son Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) as a tool to get Hope (Annika Noelle) to be his love interest. But in reality, fans know Atkinson will be a great dad as one responded, “Congrats to both of you I know y’all will be wonderful parents.”

The congratulations rolled in from all over, in and around many who wanted to know when Atkinson would return to the show. Many combined their happiness and wishfullness as one fan wrote, “Congrats❤️I miss you on B&B!! When are you coming back?” One of his followers felt the post brightened the day by commenting, “This is the positivity and light I needed to see today🙌 thank you, mom and dad! 😍.”
Thomas and Hope had started to rekindle their romance, but she rejected his multiple wedding proposals because she wasn’t ready to get married again after divorcing Liam (Scott Clifton). Thomas took Douglas to Paris, France, and briefly returned with the news that he was now engaged to Paris Buckingham (Diamond White). The sentiment of fans who want to see him return again was evinced by the response, “So happy for the both of you, not happy that you are not back on the B&B yet, you’re really needed back.”
