Fans continue to wonder when and if Matthew Atkinson will bring his character Thomas back to The Bold and the Beautiful. After all, The Forresters are in disarray since Carter stole the family’s company out from under them, and Thomas’ return would be just in time. However, Atkinson has been away himself, and recently took to social media to tease a return, but not one the fans are thinking.
He Missed the Islands
In early January, Atkinson celebrated his wife Brytnee Ratledge with a loving tribute on Instagram, and the post stated that they were in Hanalei Bay, Kauai Hawaii. Recently, he shared a photo on Instagram of him standing in front of a lush green landscape with the location being Kuai. He wrote, “Hawaii, we miss you. The garden island really lived up to the hype, could totally picture the recreation of Eden here. Looking forward to getting back!”
As always, the fans responded with questions about when he might return to B&B. However, some were resigning themselves to the fact that he might not return, but held out hope he’d land another TV project. One fan embodied that concept with the response, “Love this pic! You are greatly missed on B&B…greatly! I hope you and your family are well. Very Happy for you! I also hope, one day, either at B&B or elsewhere you grace our screens again. You are too talented not to use the gift you were given. Much love to you and your family! ❤️❤️🙏.”

Thomas Needs to Return
The love from fans wasn’t just limited to America. A viewer from France chimed in with, “Tu nous manques dans le feuilleton amour gloire et beauté. Bisous de France Sabrine,” which translates as: “We miss you in the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. Kisses from France. Sabrine.”
As the fans begged Atkinson to return, one was very specific, writing, “Great Picture. Please come back to Bold and Beautiful. Thomas is so missed. We are waiting on [a] Thope Reunion. Please, please come back 🥰.” Of course, Thope is the squish name for Thomas and Hope (Annika Noelle). The fan wasn’t wrong because Thomas needs to come back and talk some sense into Hope and get her and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) to relinquish control of Forrester Creations.
