Lawrence Saint-Victor isn’t nominated for a Daytime Emmy his role as Carter on Bold and the Beautiful, but the actor may go home with gold next month when the awards are handed out on CBS. The performer/scribe is talking to Soap Hub about his nod as part of the B&B-nominated writing team, led by executive producer/head writer Brad Bell.
“It feels amazing, man,” Saint-Victor responds when asked how it feels to be nominated, “and to be with Brad and the whole writing team, especially [for] the work we did last year with Eric’s [John McCook] story.
“It was so wonderful to write and wonderful to explore,” he adds.
Were any of Lawrence Saint-Victor’s episodes that he scripted submitted for awards? “I think the one in which Thorsten [Kaye, Ridge] is at Eric’s bedside and he talks about how when he was a little boy, he was lost and his father found him,” the actor/writer says about an episode that he believes is on Kaye’s reel. Kaye is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Ridge. Kaye won the award last year.
Saint-Victor says that since Ridge being so heroic and fatherly must have come from him having a great dad himself.
B&B is nominated for 12 Daytime Emmys this year. In addition to Kaye, other contenders for Outstanding Lead Actor include McCook and Scott Clifton (Liam). Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Annika Noelle (Hope). Jennifer Gareis (Donna) earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination this year for her work in the story involving Eric’s fight to live. The show is up for best directing and costumes, too. among other awards!
Find out who’s going to go home with the gold at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m.
