Lawrence Saint-Victor shares his perspective on Hope and Carter's relationship.
At first, it seems like Carter’s feelings for Hope came out of nowhere. It was the plot twist that The Bold and the Beautiful fans never saw coming. Lawrence Saint-Victor offered insight into Carter’s feelings. He claims they didn’t just come out of nowhere.
B&B viewers are still dealing with the aftermath of Cope. It’s been tough for Thope fans, who had a tough year. The steamiest couple on daytime television is never, ever getting back together.
Meanwhile, Hope (Annika Noelle) gave fans a case of whiplash with her romantic pursuits. Once Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was out of the picture, she set her sights on Finn (Tanner Novlan).
It took Carter to make her realize that there are better men out there. He wiped out his dating history and proclaimed his love for her. The love bug caught Carter during the trip to Rome. That’s when Hope was too busy kissing Thomas to notice.

In an interview with Heart and Soul Chats with the Stars, Saint-Victor explained how Carter’s feelings for Hope originated. He agreed that their relationship seems like it came out of nowhere, but Carter and Hope share a long history.
“It really is 0 to 6,” Saint-Victor explained. “It’s like, ‘Wow, you guys just met each other, and you’re saying I love you?’ Yeah! But it’s because I’ve known her for 10 years.”
What’s great about Cope is that they already know each other’s deepest secrets. There are no surprises. Also, they don’t have any baggage. “It’s not this longing, ‘Will they, won’t they’ thing,” Saint-Victor added.
The reason why their relationship seems intense is because they didn’t have to do dinner and drinks. They took it straight to the bedroom instead. “So it’s a very interesting relationship where you have two people who are kind of almost emotionally fast-tracked to being together for like five years,” the B&B star and writer said.
