Thomas is doing a great job of making it seem like he’s over Hope. After watching the June 27 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, is the audience supposed to believe him? Or is this all an act or wishful thinking?
Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was understandably skeptical of how fast Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) moved on. He questioned Thomas’s sudden love for Paris (Diamond White). In addition, he wanted to know if he was subconsciously using Paris to shut down his feelings for Hope. And on top of that, he wisely wondered about Thomas’s need to get married. Why is this the only logical follow-up to having feelings for a woman? Yes, he wanted to start a family. But what’s the hurry? Why is it marriage or nothing?
Thomas claimed to let go of Hope. Given how strongly and completely he loved her before she turned down his second proposal, did he? Or was he able to let go of his more obsessive tendencies, and underneath, he still has genuine feelings for Hope?
It kind of sucks that we have to take everybody at their word for now. We didn’t see what went on with Paris in Paris, so now we have to wait for clues or little cracks in the foundation to form. Those cracks will eventually tell us if Thomas and Paris are for real. Did they truly work together to better themselves? It will take a while to be able to trust anybody at their word. Thomas just got back. It’s wise to exercise patience here (although we don’t have much of that right now).
Furthermore, can we get Paris to share scenes with both Zende (Delon de Metz) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor)? An experiment must happen, and it can only happen if she talks to her exes. We need to assess Paris’s behavior further, and talking to her exes is required viewing. (Guess who’s about to join B&B? Check it out in our Comings & Goings here)
Meanwhile, Hope is raising red flags and is concerned about Thomas rushing into this engagement and this relationship. She tries to make Steffy see the light, but Steffy’s hatred for Hope always clouds their conversations. She’s a broken record of wanting Hope to accept Thomas’s relationship with Paris and avoid her brother. But did Hope give Steffy food for thought?
A couple of itty-bitty clues emerged from Thursday’s episode’s Tom (Clint Howard) /Poppy (Romy Park — who’s about to get a reality check) portion. They all related to Tom’s love of music. He used to play at places up and down the coast of California. He wasn’t a rock star, but he was a big enough deal to get some radio play. Luna (Lisa Yamada) better get Poppy and Bill (Don Diamont) to pop into Il Giardino’s while Tom is gigging up on the restaurant’s stage.
One of the things the pizza delivery guy said was that he played at music festivals. He used to have groupies, too. Interesting. Whatever connection they have originated back in Poppy’s music festival days, huh? Those same days when she connected with Dollar Bill?
What are your thoughts on Thomas and whether his feelings for Paris are genuine? How about Tom and Poppy? Any guesses as to who they are to each other yet?
