Bold and the Beautiful July 23: Katie Asks Poppy Questions…Were They The Right Ones?

Romy Park and Heather Tom knocked it out of the park in the Tuesday, July 23 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, especially in the very last scene. After eavesdropping on Katie’s conversation with Bill, Poppy confronted Bill’s ex-wife about all of Katie’s “concerns.” Katie responded by asking Poppy pointed questions that she’ll have to answer sooner rather than later.

New Rivalry Takes Off

Katie (Heather Tom) isn’t one to hold back…ever. Since she told Bill (Don Diamont) that she and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) broke up, she has shown a renewed interest in Bill’s life. It’s part protective and part jealousy, maybe? As a result, Katie is getting weird vibes from Poppy’s presence in Bill’s life.

She told Bill as much, and he doesn’t seem to give her concerns much weight. Do you know who is, though? Poppy (Romy Park). When Bill left for his appointment, Poppy wasted no time confronting Katie. She very much acted like the “lady of the manor,” as Katie later called her. (Check out B&B Comings & Goings here)

Katie and Poppy’s conversation escalated quickly. No. Dynasty-type hair-pulling or anything like that. However, they had a good old-fashioned argument that escalated when Katie took control. It was a beautiful thing.

Katie started off strong, telling Poppy that her story had holes. Holes that we fans have been asking for a long, long time. So, in essence, Katie is the audience here. Plus, we know that Tom was probably one of those men that she got close to back in the day. We don’t know their whole story just yet, but he insisted that he was Luna’s father, didn’t he?

But I see it. Your story has holes. You hooked up with Bill at a music festival a long time ago. So if you were that casual with men, there had to have been others. How many?

We’d like to thank Katie greatly for this next question. Remember that Poppy was quick to tell Bill he wasn’t Luna’s father? Months later, she admitted he was. What was that all about? Why wouldn’t she have tracked Bill down years ago?

You know, I talked to Luna (Lisa Yamada). She’s told me how much she wanted to know how her father was and how much she wanted to have him in her life. And yet you’ve suspected for all of these years that Bill could be her father, and you kept it from her?

Furthermore, why did it take this long to take a paternity test? That whole paternity test situation still rings suspicious. Li (Naomi Matsuda) suddenly walked in with her own test kit and administered it. Having a doctor give the test means fewer questions, right? What if Poppy and Li are actually in cahoots? I mean, why would you wait 20 years to take the steps to find out for sure? To finally take a paternity test?

Katie calling Poppy “lady of the manor” was brilliant. It wasn’t a big leap to suspect Poppy of hiding something. It’s clear she is. But Katie put Poppy on blast while also putting her on notice. Ultimately, she won’t let Poppy hurt anyone, including Bill, her son Will (soon-to-be Crew Morrow), or anyone else close to her.

Oh…I’ve got a lot of questions about you, Poppy. And I’m going to find out the answers to every single one of them.

This rivalry could become one of the best reasons to watch B&B right now. Considering the fates of Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) at Il Giardino, Katie might want to hire a bodyguard or, at the very least, watch her back from here on out.
