It feels like it’s been a while since Steffy and Finn have been on the same page. In the Thursday, July 18, episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, the husband and wife debriefed the whole Sheila/double murder madness. Then they held a different type of debriefing session if you know what we mean. But at the end of the day, Finn and Steffy’s relationship rests on a shaky foundation, doesn’t it?

Love and Murder in the Afternoon

It was refreshing to see that Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Finn (Tanner Novlan) were mostly in sync in this episode. We know it won’t last long, but it was nice nonetheless.

However, while Finn and Steffy talked about Chief Baker taking Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) in for questioning, one thing that Steffy claimed was outrageous. She said, “Honestly, after everything that happened, I really thought that maybe, just maybe, Sheila could change and be like a better wife, but no.” Steffy thought Sheila could change? Come on! Her whole being has, understandably, never believed such a thing could happen.

Regardless, it would be great to think that Finn and Steffy’s marriage is good to go now that she heard her husband take her side at Il Giardino. He demanded that Sheila be taken in for questioning. Unfortunately, here’s where things start to get shaky.

Finn (who warns Liam about Steffy tomorrow) said he believed in people getting second chances. For Sheila, destruction follows her everywhere. So, he had no choice but to take Steffy’s side. His every urge is to protect Steffy and their kids. But as soon as the cops realize Sheila didn’t kill Tom (Clint Howard) and Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers), Finn will fall all over himself to express his guilt over not believing his birth mom.

Everybody, including Finn, thinks that part of the reason Sheila may have done the bad deed is because she was a nurse. Of course, she’d know how to create the deadly concoction that killed the two Il Giardino employees. What they’re not doing is thinking that maybe doctors could do the same thing, namely Li (Naomi Matsuda). The woman acted suspiciously during yesterday’s episode. (We’re still wondering what’s in that backpack)

So when Finn and Steffy ultimately discover Sheila’s innocent (or innocent right now), how will things change between them? Will their relationship take a nosedive? They better relish these intimate moments they’re having right now. Who knows what will happen once Sheila gets done with the cops? She may have a chip on her shoulder. One of those chips has Steffy’s name written all over it.
