Actors always surprise fans when they reveal that they have other talents. The Bold and the Beautiful’s Joshua Hoffman, who plays RJ Forrester, has some major musical skills he shares with his followers. He recently shared a video of him playing the piano to honor a music icon he holds dear to his heart.
Hoffman composes music and performs under the pseudonym Calvin Kingston. “Playing the piano is his favorite way to unwind after a long day of filming,” according to CBS, and he’s not shy about sharing his talent. On Instagram, he posted a video of him playing a tune on his electronic keyboard, which was on the piano setting.
He captioned, “Bill Evans is best known for being the pianist on Miles Davis’ [album] Kind of Blue, but he’s one of my favorite composers of all time.” Hoffman described the piece he was playing: “This is Waltz for Debby, probably his most well-known solo piece (and it took me like a year to learn but it was so worth it).”

Hoffman also gave a little history on Evans, writing, “His life was plagued with an addiction to heroin and the suicides of his ex and brother as well as harsh judgment for dating a woman of color.” He continued praising Evans, “He was a philosopher and a genius that I’m very inspired by.” His fans were suitably impressed by his performance.
One of his followers is also a B&B fan who enjoys it when John McCook (Eric) plays piano on the show. They replied, “❤️Request for you have RJ play a Christmas song for this year’s bold and beautiful Christmas with Eric. Would be so sweet.”
Severale fans enjoyed his playing, with one writing, “And he plays the piano??? …. 🫶🏼,” and another with similar interests replied, “Love Jazz. Evans and Davis are two of my idols. Love this. You did awesome Josh!” (Find out about McCook’s love of caroling at Christmas time.)
