Jennifer Finnigan, formerly Bridget on The Bold and the Beautiful, has posted a loving tribute to the late Matthew Perry. The Friends star, who died on Saturday, played a huge role in Finnigan’s personal life.
“Oof. Matty P. We were children here,” Finnigan began her Instagram post, which featured a photo of her and Perry. “You had come by to visit me and @maevequinlan [Maeve Quinlan, ex-Megan] while I was doing a photo shoot with our buddy @tucker_photos.
“As you drove to my house, the paparazzi followed you up my driveway,” the Daytime Emmy-winner continued. “You were so apologetic. Even at the height of your incredible fame and career, you were kind and respectful, had such a good heart, and man you always made us laugh so damn hard. So many good times. And then about a year after this pic, you introduced me to my amazing husband @jonnysilverman [Jonathan Silverman]. Almost 20 years ago now.
“And for that, you will ALWAYS be a part of our story,” Jennifer Finnigan says. “We will always be grateful to you. Even though life went by and we didn’t see each other on the regular, every year we would text you on our anniversary and thank you. And you always responded with a ‘Best thing I ever did,’ or something of the sort.
“So thanks, Matty. Thanks for making the world laugh, thanks for the wonderful memories, thanks for perhaps one of the most successful introductions of a couple in this crazy town….Our hearts are heavy. We love you,” Finnigan added. “Keep makin’ em laugh up there 🙏🏻❤️💔💔.”
“I remember this day like it was literally yesterday,” added Quinlan, who used to play tennis with Perry. “He was one in a million. Despite being internationally famous for being Chandler, setting you & @jonnysilverman up was truly his greatest achievement. He lives on in you both & [your daughter] EJ because of that. Ohhh how we’ll miss him. Hope he can rest peacefully now. 🙏🙌.”
Tucker_Photos replied to Quinlan: “And he absolutely adored YOU, my friend. Thinking of you 😢 I’m hugging you tight. 🤗.”
“I’ve been thinking and praying about you and Maeve since I heard the news,” posted Winsor Harmon (ex-Thorne). “It’s heartbreaking. I remember the first time I met him with Maeve, we were discussing his new workout routine. He was so talented and one of the good guys!! 🙏❤️.” Quinlan responds: “You’re the best Wins 🤗. I could tell he really enjoyed you. You made him laugh hard that day. xo.”
