Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Hints This Revelation Will Lead To A Steffy v. Hope War On Bold and the Beautiful

Steffy and Hope have been on-and-off rivals over the years on The Bold and the Beautiful, and Hope’s recent obsession with her husband Finn can only fuel the fires. With Sheila free and Ridge making decisions without consulting his daughter/co-CEO, she’ll be raring for a fight when she learns about Hope’s innermost feelings.

Steffy Has Become Stressy

B&B’s Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) has been very frustrated lately. She’s upset because her dad, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), made a unilateral decision to not only bring Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) back on board at Forrester Creations but also have her be the face of the revived lingerie line, Brooke’s Bedroom.

According to a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, MacInnes Wood explained that part of Steffy’s frustration is that she’s upset because Ridge invited Brooke to the Monte Carlo fashion summit, stating, “She thought that she and her dad would be representing Forrester Creations by day and, by night, having much-needed father-daughter time together in beautiful Monaco without the pressing issues of real life surrounding them.” 

Added to her work stress is the ever-present Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Steffy had assumed that she killed Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) and Tom (Clint Howard) and was disappointed when, because of lack of evidence and motive, Sheila was set free. On top of that, her husband Finn (Tanner Novlan) doesn’t see a problem with Sheila being presumed innocent.

Hope (Annika Noelle) has been in Finn’s ear, sympathizing with his connection to his birth mother, as well as having fantasies about being with Steffy’s husband. While Hope only told Brooke about her feelings so far, Steffy has noticed her rival being in Finn’s orbit lately, and it’s only a matter of time before she learns the truth.

All Out War Looms

Steffy has been quite angry lately, and her insistence that Sheila is guilty — without any kind of proof whatsoever — lifted her spirits, only to have her come crashing down emotionally when Sheila was freed. She’s also been working to control Finn’s relationship with his bio-mom, while Hope, conversely, has been nothing but encouraging to him. Even though Finn politely turned away Hope when she admitted she was into him, Steffy’s overbearing and controlling nature will take its toll on him, and it’s only a matter of time before he runs into Hope’s arms.

“I think that Steffy feels that Hope is attempting to influence Steffy and Finn’s marriage because of Sheila,” said Wood, adding, “and Hope’s insane thinking that Sheila and Hope’s father, Deacon (Sean Kanan), have both turned a new leaf. But I don’t think Steffy has any clue that Hope is regularly fantasizing about Finn.” She remarked that when Hope’s feelings are eventually brought to light, “Hope better be far, far away!”

The actress praised head writer and executive producer Bradley Bell for a great story that’s fanned the flames of Steffy and Hope’s rivalry, further teasing that she can’t wait for the fans to see the outcome. At one time, Liam (Scott Clifton) was at the center of a Hope/Steffy fight, and now Finn is their target. Steffy will do whatever it takes to keep her marriage safe, including fighting off Hope’s advances.
